2 suspects detained in armed attack in Erzurum, victim's life still in danger

Following the armed attack that took place on 2. Kars Kapı Caddesi in Erzurum’s Rabia Ana Mahallesi, it was reported that two of the detained suspects were arrested. In the incident that occurred yesterday, 23-year-old citizen Berşan Ağyürek was seriously injured by gunfire and was taken to the hospital by his own vehicle with the help of bystanders. An operation was carried out across the city as part of the efforts initiated by law enforcement units to identify and capture the perpetrators.

3 suspects named U.R. (20), O.R. (17), and F.A. were detained by police teams in connection with the incident. After their statements and procedures at the police station were completed, the suspects were sent to the judicial authorities following health checks. The fate of the suspects was determined in light of the defenses made and evidence presented during the prosecution processes.

A detention order was issued for suspects O.R. and U.R., who were referred to the Sulh Ceza Hakimliği. The investigation into the roles of these two detained suspects in the planning and execution of the incident is being deepened and continued. Within the scope of the investigation, the motive of the attack and the details of the degree of involvement of the suspects are being scrutinized.

The other interrogated suspect, F.A., was released under judicial control conditions instead of being detained.
