Hundreds of hectares turned to ash in forest wildfires shaking Southern Europe

A similar disaster was experienced in Southern Fransa as well, where officials and fire crews are on high alert as the wildfires approach residential areas. Especially fires breaking out in regions dense with forests pose a risk of loss of life and property by occasionally getting out of control under the influence of strong winds. Despite coordinated firefighting efforts from air and land, French officials emphasize that approaching the center of the fire and bringing it fully under control may take time, and citizens must heed warnings. It is stated that precautionary evacuations are carried out at tourist facilities and camping areas in the region, and the situation is kept under constant observation.

Overall, this dry season and rising temperatures experienced in the Mediterranean basin have driven the fire risk to historic levels, activating countries' emergency plans.
