Drug operation in Hatay: large amount of cannabis and synthetic stimulants seized, 4 detentions

As a result of a successful drug operation carried out in the city center of Hatay, security forces seized significant amounts of banned substances and ordered numerous detentions within the scope of the fight against crime. In the raid organized as a result of the coordinated work of the police teams, drugs with high total value and quantity were collected from the market and kept under custody to be destroyed. The variety of drugs seized within the scope of the operation covers a wide range from established hanfeng plants to synthetic chemicals, and it is stated that this situation indicates that the suspects are operating in an organized manner.

In the searches, 8 kilos 900 grams of cannabis and 125 grams of synthetic cannabinoid type drugs were successfully seized, and 56 synthetic pharmaceutical pills were also found, revealing different dimensions of drug trafficking. In addition, according to the information included in the details of the operation, 2 cannabis root plants, determined to be directly linked to the production process, were safely collected by the teams and recorded as evidence. Following the operation, a total of 6 suspects, against whom action was initiated on charges of possessing and trading drugs, were taken into custody by the police units. After the completion of the suspects' procedures at the police station, their statements were taken by the judicial authorities they were referred to as part of the investigation, and the investigation against them was deepened. Among the suspects whose judicial control and detention situations were evaluated, 4 were decided to be detained by the peace criminal judgeship and sent to prison, while the other 2 suspects were released with judicial control conditions.

It was emphasized once again with the statements made by the police officials that the fight against drug use and sale across the country, especially in Hatay, will continue resolutely. Attention was drawn to the importance of public support for citizens to be sensitive to such situations and to report an incident they see to the 112 Emergency Call Center. It was noted that the target of the security units is to dismantle crime centers and prevent young people from being poisoned, and that this operation serves this purpose.

It was stated that the processes of examining the seized substances in a laboratory environment, determining their market value, and delivering them to the relevant units have been initiated. It has been learned that the investigations into whether the detained suspects have links to other criminal organizations are continuing meticulously, and the operation may expand to include other suspects. The message was given that the work of the narcotic branch directorates within the Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü will continue uninterruptedly and that every kind of struggle will be carried out within the framework of law.
