JASAT Operation: 2 Convicts Wanted With Over 8 Years of Imprisonment Caught

As a result of the relentless efforts carried out by the Kocaeli İl Jandarma Komutanlığı teams towards wanted individuals, a significant outcome was achieved. Two suspects, who were wanted for finalized prison sentences, were caught red-handed in successful operations. It was learned that both individuals had a total of 8 years and 4 months of finalized prison sentences against them. The convicts were apprehended thanks to the joint work of the Jandarma Suç Araştırma Timi (JASAT) and district gendarmerie teams. In this operation, a convict who had a finalized prison sentence of 8 years and 4 months for the crime of 'causing death and injury by negligence' was detained. It was reported that the individual had been hiding for a long time and their location was determined as a result of the meticulous tracking by the gendarmerie teams. The detained convict was taken to the relevant station to be transferred to the courthouse after their initial interrogation. Shortly before this, on 9 Temmuz, the İzmit İlçe Jandarma Komutanlığı and JASAT teams carried out another successful operation. In this context, another convict who likewise had a finalized prison sentence of 8 years and 4 months for the crime of 'trafficking or supplying drugs or stimulants' was caught. Considering the harms of drug trafficking on public health and the future of the youth, the criticality of such arrests is obvious. The suspect being caught red-handed by the teams means a significant blow has also been dealt to the drug network in the region.
