Gendarmerie Drug Operation in Kastamonu: 3 Suspects Arrested

A comprehensive operation was conducted by the Kastamonu İl Jandarma Komutanlığı teams within the scope of combating narcotic crimes. The operations, planned between 29 Haziran and 6 Temmuz 2026, targeted individuals involved in the manufacture and trafficking of drugs in the region. As a result of the operations, a large amount of illegal substances and various weapons were seized, dealing a major blow to the criminal organization. Thanks to the coordinated work of the security forces, the peace of the local people and public order were safeguarded. This successful operation carried out during the said period once again revealed the decisive stance of the authorities against drug trafficking.

A significant amount and variety of drugs were confiscated during the searches. Meticulous searches by the gendarmerie teams uncovered 34 synthetic pills and 163 cannabis plants. In addition, 142 grams of cannabinoid-infused tobacco and 15 grams of methamphetamine were among the illegal findings. 5 drug paraphernalia items were also included among the evidence found during the operation. These seized substances are considered important evidence exposing the scale and diversity of the illegal trade in the region.

Along with the drugs, various weapons and equipment were also seized in the operation. During the searches, 2 unregistered pistols and 2 magazines belonging to these pistols were found. Additionally, 1 magazine belonging to a long-barreled weapon was added to the criminal evidence. The discovery of these weapons has increased suspicions that the suspects were not only involved in drug trafficking but might also be engaged in other crimes. Authorities emphasize that they will continue to enhance security measures in such situations where armed and unarmed crimes trigger one another.

As a result of the operations, suspects against whom sufficient evidence was found were taken into custody and referred to judicial authorities. After the completion of their testimonies, individuals named B.K., S.Ç., and A.E. were arrested by the court they were brought before. Following the decision, these three arrested suspects were delivered to the Penal Execution Institution to begin serving their sentences. This decision by the court aims to deter similar criminal organizations and individuals in the region. While the judicial process is expected to continue meticulously for the suspects, investigations for the capture of other suspects are also ongoing.

The Kastamonu İl Jandarma Komutanlığı has announced to the public that it will maintain its determination to fight with these recent successes. It was stated that the operations against those manufacturing and trafficking drugs will continue comprehensively and uninterruptedly. Authorities added that all necessary measures will be taken to protect the youth and society from the scourge of drugs.
