Drug and Weapon Operation in Kastamonu: 3 Suspects Arrested

The widespread drug operations conducted across the province over the past week by the Kastamonu İl Jandarma Komutanlığı teams have yielded results. Simultaneous raids were carried out at addresses identified as a result of the meticulous work of intelligence units and field research. Detailed searches were conducted at the residences of suspects, who were believed to be in possession of and trafficking drugs. During these searches, a large number of illegal substances and weapons were seized, and the criminal elements were eliminated. The efforts of the security forces to completely end drug trafficking in the region continue with determination.

It was announced that a significant amount of drugs of various types and quantities were seized during the physical searches. Examinations revealed 34 synthetic pills, 163 cannabis plants, and 142 grams of synthetic cannabinoid-laced tobacco. In addition, 15 grams of methamphetamine and 5 different apparatuses suspected to be used for drug consumption were found on the suspects and at their addresses. All of these substances, which are extremely harmful to health and peace, were recorded by the security forces to be examined and subsequently destroyed. Authorities frequently emphasize how great a danger the seized substances pose on the street.

Along with the drugs, the weapons and ammunition seized within the scope of the operation also increased the significance of the operation. During the searches at the raided addresses, 2 unlicensed pistols and 2 magazines belonging to these weapons were identified. Additionally, a magazine belonging to a long-barreled weapon was seized, breaking the armed capacity of the criminal organization or individuals. These seized weapons and ammunition were immediately taken under protection by the security forces. Within the scope of the relevant judicial investigation, they were processed as evidence to determine who the weapons belonged to and what other crimes they might have been used in.

A total of 3 suspects, for whom sufficient evidence was gathered and who were detained during the operations, were referred to the courthouse after their questioning and procedures at the gendarmerie stations were completed. The suspects, who denied the charges or made their defenses during the questioning at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, were referred to the magistrate's court. After evaluating their statements and the nature of the crimes, the judge ruled to arrest the suspects and send them to prison. It was stated that the suspects will be tried for serious crimes such as drug trafficking and possession of unlicensed weapons. These arrests are considered a highly critical step in preventing illegal activities in the region.
