101 People Detained in Illegal Betting Operation in Kocaeli, 6.6 Billion TL Volume Detected

In the large-scale illegal betting operation carried out centered in Kocaeli and covering 31 provinces, 120 suspects were taken into custody as a result of detailed work by the Cyber Crime Departments of the law enforcement agency.

Following the completion of procedures at the police department for the detained suspects, processes for referral to judicial authorities were initiated after health checks, and the legal process proceeded in this direction.

As a result of the trial conducted by the on-duty magistrate for the suspects, 101 were remanded in custody and sent to prison, while an adli kontrol (judicial control) measure was applied for 19 suspects, releasing them.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was revealed that the crime organization established 15 front companies to hide its activities and a transaction volume of 6 billion 657 million 746 thousand lira was realized through these companies.

In the operation launched with simultaneous raids on 158 addresses on 30 June, 105 people had been caught previously, and with the last 15 suspects caught, the total number of detentions reached 120, finalizing the size of the operation.
