Fatal accident in Kocaeli Körfez: Father and son died after crashing into a TIR

A tragic traffic accident in the early hours of the morning in Kocaeli’s Körfez district resulted in the loss of two lives. In the incident at the Hacıosman Mahallesi location on the D-100 highway, a passenger car traveling in the direction of Ankara rear-ended a TIR moving in the same direction. Due to the severity of the collision, the car became wedged under the truck's trailer and was dragged for meters, causing the occupants to be trapped. The toll of the accident was heavy; the driver, 24-year-old Emin Torgay, and his father, 53-year-old Musa Torgay, who were trapped in the compressed vehicle, were extracted by fire crews after intensive work. However, it was reported that both victims had numerous life-threatening traumas and were in critical condition. After initial intervention at the scene, the father and son were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but despite all efforts by doctors, they could not be saved and lost their lives. The fact that Musa Torgay was the owner of Kadir Tekstil, operating in the Dilovası region, amplified the impact of the accident in the business world.

As part of the investigation launched immediately after the incident, police teams initiated a detailed examination to determine the cause of the accident on the D-100 highway. Authorities are trying to determine how the car crashed into the back of the TIR and whether driver error or another factor was effective. It was determined that security measures were taken at the scene and the other lane was closed to traffic during the team's work, with normal flow resuming after the investigations were completed. Witness statements and traces at the scene were recorded as important evidence for the report.

The bodies of the father and son who lost their lives were handed over to their families after the completion of procedures at the forensic medicine institution. While the Torgay family and relatives began accepting condolences in Dilovası following this great loss, the news of these deaths deeply saddened their loved ones in the region. It was announced that the funeral ceremony for Musa Torgay and his son Emin Torgay would be held at Orhangazi Camii in Dilovası district.

As details of the funeral program were finalized, it was learned that the deceased would be buried following the funeral prayer after the noon prayer.
