KMÜ Increased Cyber Security Measures Before NATO Summit

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi (KMÜ) aimed to protect critical infrastructure by taking comprehensive cyber security measures across the university due to the NATO Summit planned to be held in the coming days. The university administration announced with an official notice that temporary access restrictions were imposed to protect corporate digital systems against security risks brought by this international meeting. The decision taken aims to elevate the institution's information security protocols to the highest level and create a buffer zone against possible cyber attack risks.

According to the detailed statement, access to the university's central information systems from outside the campus boundaries will be completely blocked between 5 and 10 July 2026. During this date range, access to student automation systems, personnel data processing, and general university networks within KMÜ will only be allowed via computers on campus and internal internet lines. It was stated that the application would be carried out with great precision to minimize possible cyber threats from the outside.

In the official information made by university officials, it was explicitly stated that access to university systems from outside the campus would be closed between 5-10 July 2026 to ensure critical infrastructure security within the scope of the NATO Summit. It was emphasized that this measure was taken to prevent the intense cyber traffic and possible attack attempts that may occur during the summit from infiltrating the institution's network.
