307 suspects detained in operations in 23 provinces including Nevşehir

The Ministry of Interior officially announced that a large-scale operation was launched against qualified fraud and laundering of assets derived from crime in 23 provinces, including Nevşehir. Coordinated by the General Directorate of Security Department of Public Order, 45 separate operations were carried out in the last month, dealing a significant blow to criminal organizations. These operations are seen as part of a comprehensive investigation focusing not only on individual fraud cases but also on the systematic laundering of crime proceeds and their integration into the economic system. It is stated that the work demonstrates the state's determination in combating financial crimes and is meticulously pursued within the legal framework.

The scope of the operations spread across a vast geographical area, covering all corners of the country; simultaneous raids were conducted in the provinces of Adana, Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Elazığ, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Isparta, İzmir, Mersin, İstanbul, Nevşehir, Sakarya, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Tokat, Van and Osmaniye. In these coordinated actions, a total of 307 suspects were detained by security units and their interrogations began. The suspects are alleged to belong to an organized structure and to have targeted citizens' assets by operating in different provinces for a long time. The simultaneous execution of operations in so many provinces is of great importance as it shows that the criminal organization has a nationwide network and that they are part of it.

One of the most striking aspects of the investigations relates to the details emerging regarding the magnitude of the suspects' financial mobility. In the examinations, a massive transaction volume of 5 billion 388 million TL was detected in the bank accounts belonging to the suspects. This figure reveals that the criminal organization in question not only committed simple fraud but also infiltrated the financial system and created large-scale money traffic. It was determined that income obtained from crime was attempted to be legitimatized through transfers between different accounts, foreign exchange buying and selling, and other complex financial methods, and subjected to laundering activities. The data obtained once again brought to the fore the critical role played by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and relevant units.

During the address searches carried out within the scope of the operations, a large amount of material of strong evidence of crime was seized. Police seized communication and IT equipment that deciphered the suspects' communication networks and preserved digital data for examination. In addition, unlicensed weapons and ammunition, estimated to be kept to protect the organization, along with amounts of foreign currency and gold assessed to be obtained from crime, were found and immediately neutralized by security forces. The seizures constitute important evidence both for documenting the financial dimension of the crime and regarding the organization's potential for violence. Security forces aim to complete the legal process by presenting the functioning of the findings and crime details to the judiciary.

Consequently, in a written statement made by the Ministry of Interior, thanks were given to all units that worked hard in the planning and execution of these successful operations. The Ministry stated that they congratulated the heroic police, the General Directorate of Security Department of Public Order, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, and all personnel who served sacrificially in the operations. The statement emphasized that the fight against events that disturb the peace of society and shake economic balances, such as qualified fraud and laundering of crime proceeds, will continue decisively. Citizens were also warned to be vigilant and act consciously against such fraud attempts.
