There Are Casualties in Russia's Missile and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Attacks on Ukraine

Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of 18-19 July with 41 missiles and 125 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As a result of the attacks, civilian casualties and extensive material damage occurred in the capital Kyiv, as well as in the Kharkiv, Odesa, Donetsk, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions. Although the Ukrainian air defense managed to destroy many missiles and drones, some targets were hit.

While 3 people lost their lives and 20 people were injured in a missile attack on a postal terminal in the Kharkiv region, a direct hit occurred at a facility located in the suburbs of the capital Kyiv (Bucha region), known as one of the country's largest logistics centers. The massive fire that broke out during the attack turned approximately 100 thousand square meters of storage area into ashes, causing significant destruction in the logistics network.

On the other hand, 5 people were killed and 31 people (mostly children) were injured in the bombardments in the Donetsk and Kherson regions, while civilian deaths and damages were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions. In the Zaporizhzhia region, casualties were prevented thanks to the evacuation of a passenger train after a UAV crashed into it, while one official was slightly injured. Ukrainian air defense units announced that they neutralized a total of 126 targets, including 18 missiles and 108 UAVs.
