Strong Condemnation and Reaction from SES Hakkâri Branch to Attack on 112 Emergency Team

Sağlık ve Sosyal Hizmet Emekçileri Sendikası (SES) Hakkâri Şubesi condemned in the strongest terms the attack and violence incident targeting the 112 Acil Sağlık team working throughout the province. In a written statement, it was emphasized that all kinds of violence against healthcare workers are never acceptable, such behaviors are incompatible with human dignity, and there is an obligation to stand by their colleagues. The union management shared with the public that healthcare workers are only trying to do their jobs and doing their utmost to protect human life, vehemently condemning the attacks.

It was stated that healthcare workers work with great dedication to protect human health, the most valuable asset of society, and are on duty without regard to the concept of working hours to save lives in emergencies. It was conveyed that the 112 Acil Sağlık team is active in the field at all hours for the health and safety of the public, performs their duties faithfully despite difficult conditions, and continues the struggle of saving lives, which is the most sacred duty. In this context, it was underlined that what is needed against these heroes in the race to save lives is not violence, but support and encouragement, and that standing by them is a social duty.

It was expressed that this sad incident in Hakkâri province once again revealed how deep violence in healthcare can reach and the need for immediate precautions. Union officials characterized the attack not just as a physical violence incident but as a factor that hinders the delivery of health services and wears down workers psychologically. Strong calls were made for authorities to take deterrent measures, strengthen the legal ground, and fully ensure the safety of healthcare workers to prevent the recurrence of such events.

Continuing the call, it was stated that all relevant institutions and organizations have a duty to provide a non-violent and safe working environment, and it was demanded that violence in healthcare be ended in all aspects. In the press statement made on behalf of SES Hakkâri Şubesi, it was noted that the union's struggle to protect the rights and law of healthcare workers will continue, and they will stand by every worker exposed to violence in legal and administrative processes. Addressing all segments of society, the message was given that support should be provided to healthcare workers as a patient relative or citizen, and their struggle under difficult conditions should be appreciated.

Finally, in the final part of the statement, it was emphasized that everyone is a potential patient and must respect healthcare workers who strive to save the lives of people they will meet in hospitals or in the field. It was clearly stated that eliminating the environment of violence is essential for the uninterrupted provision of health services and for the public to receive continuous service, and that a violence-free, safe, and peaceful health system is the right of not only healthcare workers but the entire society.
