Sudan Prime Minister's Advisor: 30 Community Reconciliations Achieved to Repair National Unity

Musleh Nasır, Social Affairs Advisor to the Sudanese Prime Minister, announced that more than 30 community reconciliations have been successfully achieved across the country since he took office in August of last year. Nasır noted that the scope of these reconciliation efforts is quite broad, including the resolution of numerous intertribal disputes, and stated that they focus on eliminating differences of opinion among various social components. He also emphasized that various social contracts and good neighborliness agreements have been signed to establish a culture of peaceful coexistence nationwide. These initiatives were reported to be of vital importance for preserving Sudan's national fabric and strengthening social solidarity in a challenging civil war environment. The official added that the positive outcomes obtained from these studies have made significant contributions to the overall stability of the country.

Speaking at a press conference held at his office in Hartum Bahri, Nasır stated that despite the deep political and security challenges the country faces, efforts on reconciliation files continue with determination. He explained that the fundamental strategy in carrying out these efforts is to establish close cooperation with local administrations, tribal leaders, and particularly the spiritual leaders of Sufi orders. He noted that it is believed much more successful results are achieved in ending armed conflicts and establishing peace, thanks to the profound influence and social weight of these local and traditional figures among the masses. The advisor also stated that bringing these forces together offers an effective local model for managing crises that the state struggles to handle on its own. Officials emphasized that these structural partnerships are considered a concrete proof that Sudan's traditional mediation heritage has been successfully integrated into modern crisis management.

Emphasizing that at the core of Sudanese society lies a deep culture of mutual aid, solidarity, and mutual support, Nasır said that these deeply rooted values are the greatest key preventing the country from falling apart. Stating that the extraordinary and exceptional conditions the country is going through make these historical solidarity networks even more critical day by day, he noted that special programs have been developed to preserve these values. Furthermore, he highlighted that preventing hate speech, spreading a culture of peace, and ensuring the mutual acceptance of different ethnic groups are among the top priorities of the advisory role. He expressed that they are aware that resolving some deep divisions within society is a long and patience-demanding process, but that this challenging task can never be an excuse to give up. He underlined that the ultimate goal of all these peace-building efforts is to establish lasting social stability and an environment of peace in post-conflict Sudan.

Warning that divisive and racist rhetoric are intentionally triggered to weaken Sudan's social fabric, Nasır argued that comprehensive measures must be taken against such external interventions and internal provocations. Drawing attention to the fact that the main objective behind these destructive initiatives is to drag the country into chaos and dismantle its unity, the official announced that integrated defense plans are being prepared in collaboration with state institutions against these dangerous trends. It was emphasized that it is essential to be aware of any propaganda that would divide society and to conduct a broad awareness campaign against these dangerous narratives. Furthermore, he invited all national media institutions and civil society organizations to form a joint front against these fragmenting threats and to raise public awareness. Underlining that the most fundamental condition for a nation's survival is intellectual and social unity, officials stated that all national forces must be mobilized to preserve this unity.

Valuing the constructive and unifying role that national media can play in today's critical period, the advisor called on the Birleşik Medya, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı to create a national vision. He stated that this media vision must directly serve to heal the wounds of the destructive war the country is going through, increase social solidarity, and support a general recovery process. The official pointed out that the country possesses immense natural resource wealth and tremendous potential, which makes Sudan a constant target for external forces and constitutes one of the root causes of the ongoing war. Stating that a correct understanding of the current crisis and the dimensions of the struggle for resource sharing is mandatory for restructuring future national policies, he demanded full solidarity among the state, society, and the media. Ultimately, he conveyed the message that Sudan can overcome this deep turmoil only by uniting all its components without exception in a spirit of national solidarity and by protecting its valuable resources against occupiers.
