Historic heat wave forces cancellation of 4 Temmuz celebrations in ABD, millions at risk

In New York City, utility company Con Edison reported that approximately 17,000 customers experienced power outages, and while crews worked to restore service, citizens were asked to conserve.

Interesting and concerning scenes of the heat's impact on daily life began to emerge from across the country. In Manhattan, it was reported that the asphalt softened and sidewalk temperatures rose, causing some people's shoe soles to stick to the ground. However, despite all the negativity, thousands of fans gathered outside Madison Square Garden hoping to see celebrities attending the extensively televised wedding celebrations of pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce. According to the National Hava Durumu Servisi, on Friday, more than 185 million ABD'liler, or more than half of the population, were under heat advisories.

Health officials warned that such prolonged exposure could lead to heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
