7 Vehicles Collide on Tekirdağ-İstanbul Road: There Are Injuries

During the evening rush hour, a horrific accident occurred in the Beyazköy locality within the borders of the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ. A total of seven vehicles traveling on the main highway connecting Tekirdağ and İstanbul collided one after another after losing control for a reason that has not yet been fully determined. Since the area where the accident occurred is on a route with heavy evening traffic, the scale of the incident grew rapidly. It is thought that a chain-reaction accident occurred as a result of insufficient braking distances for the drivers who lost control of their vehicles. The severity of the collision caused panic among surrounding drivers, prompting emergency teams to be directed to the area quickly.

Following the accident, after local citizens reported the situation to the relevant authorities, numerous health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Emergency medical teams, arriving at the accident scene as quickly as possible, immediately launched a search and rescue effort for drivers and passengers who might be trapped or injured inside the vehicles involved in the crash. In this traffic accident, at least one person injured by the impact of the collision was transferred to an ambulance immediately after receiving first aid at the scene from medical teams. It was reported that the injured person's condition was stable, with no life-threatening danger, and they were dispatched to the nearest hospital. On the other hand, individuals in the other vehicles involved in the accident were found to be physically unharmed and did not require additional treatment at the scene.

This incident seriously disrupted the flow of traffic on the Tekirdağ-İstanbul highway and caused long-term hardship for drivers. Following the accident, where multiple vehicles collided, roads in both directions were temporarily closed to traffic, causing a massive vehicle queue stretching for kilometers. Drivers forced to wait on the road waited for the teams to work quickly and safely for the situation to return to normal. The heavy traffic negatively affected the daily lives of local residents and citizens traveling between cities, causing delays that lasted for hours. In the following hours, authorities tried to alleviate the chaos somewhat by directing drivers to alternative routes via social media and navigation applications.

After the accident, numerous tow trucks and cranes were dispatched to the area to reopen the road to traffic. Teams meticulously pulled the damaged and unusable vehicles to the side of the road so that traffic could flow safely. Although the process of removing the vehicles from the road progressed slowly at times due to challenging weather and light conditions, it was completed as quickly as possible thanks to the teams' efforts, and traffic flow was restored to its former state. After the road was completely cleared, waiting vehicles slowly began to move, and the long traffic ordeal finally came to an end. While transportation returned to normal in the area after the completion of the work, authorities warned citizens to be more careful during heavy traffic hours and evening drives.

Police teams, who took security measures at the scene, launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the main cause of the accident. Authorities are trying to reveal step by step how the incident occurred by collecting vehicle parts, tire marks from the accident scene, and nearby security camera footage. According to initial findings, the possibility that sudden braking by a vehicle or failure to obey speed limits may have caused the accident is being evaluated. Various factors such as adverse weather conditions, the physical condition of the road, or driver negligence are also being analyzed in detail to see if they influenced the event. Upon completion of the investigation, it is aimed to identify those with potential negligence, initiate legal processes, and take necessary steps to prevent similar accidents.
