Türk Eğitim-Sen Published the Survey on Peer Bullying and Children Involved in Crime

Türk Eğitim-Sen Amasya Branch President İlker Özel announced that an important survey study prepared by the General Center has been presented to the service of the educational community. This comprehensive research on "Peer Bullying and Children Involved in Crime" has been made accessible via the education union's official website. Teachers and school administrators will be able to submit their views and assessments via the said platform until 10 Ağustos 2026. The data to be collected as of this date is planned to be of critical importance for the union's future educational policies and strategic steps. Özel, in his statement, invited the members of the education union and all educators to actively participate in this important study.

The main purpose of the said survey study is to deeply examine the effects of peer bullying, which has become an increasing source of concern in school environments, and children involved in crime on the education system. Their real-life experiences are considered the cornerstone of the policies to be developed to break the cycle of violence and bullying. Emphasizing that purely theoretical approaches will not be sufficient, Özel stated that the data to be collected by going down to the field will reveal the true dimensions of the problem. It is believed that supporting such scientific research as an education union will contribute to the solution of chronic problems experienced in education.

It is aimed that the data to be obtained from this in-depth survey study will form a scientific basis for various prevention strategies to be implemented in the future. In the light of these data, it is desired to develop not only intervention methods but also effective protection and prevention mechanisms that can come into play before violent incidents even begin. The solution proposals to be presented by the educators participating in the survey can be turned into policy notes to be shared with the Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı and local education administrations. This initiative, which was launched in Amasya and is planned to be expanded nationwide, also reveals the power and importance of non-governmental organizations in shaping educational policies. It is emphasized that every step to be taken to prevent children from being driven to crime and to eliminate their victimization is of invaluable importance for the future of society.
