2,200 Year Old Alcohol Containing Ancient Tomb Found

A research conducted in China has uncovered alcohol in a large bottle found in a 2,200-year-old tomb. The alcohol was discovered in a bronze vessel in the Qin tomb and was found to have a volume of approximately 3.74 liters.

The researchers believe that this alcohol is a grain-based fermented beverage that may have been made from broomcorn millet, wheat, and/or barley. They also detected the presence of lactic and oxalic acid in high concentrations, as well as dozens of other organic compounds.

This discovery is expected to spark further interest in the study of ancient Chinese alcoholic beverages and traditional production techniques.
