China's Economy Changer Zhu Rongji

China's former Premier Zhu Rongji has died at the age of 97. Zhu restructured China's economy during his five-year term as Premier from 1998. Following his death, state news agency Xinhua described Zhu as 'an outstanding proletarian revolutionary and statesman'. Zhu's funeral will be held in Beijing on Tuesday. Top leaders of China's ruling Communist Party will attend the farewell ceremony for Zhu, who was born in central China in 1928 and rose through the party ranks after the 1949 revolution led by Mao Zedong. Zhu was known for his anti-corruption campaign, the controversial dismantling of inefficient state-owned enterprises, and China's integration into the global economy.
