Myanmar Should Release Political Prisoners

The international community needs to take action to release political prisoners in Myanmar. There are at least 30 journalists and more than 14,000 political prisoners in the country.

Aung San Suu Kyi, the political leader who is currently in prison in Myanmar, was re-elected in 2020 but was arrested after the coup in 2021. Suu Kyi, who is now 81 years old, is at risk of being imprisoned until her death.

The international community needs to unite and send a strong message to release the political prisoners in Myanmar.
