Investigation into irregularities in local civil service exam in Thailand yields its first results

Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt stated that he is about to announce the first-phase investigation results regarding the irregularities in the local government civil service exam. It was reported that various institutions, such as the National Police Agency, the National Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), are collaborating within the scope of the investigation.

DSI Director-General Yuttana Pradam stated that his agency is examining potential fraud cases and that financial transactions will also be investigated if the case is accepted as a special case. At the same time, it was emphasized that changing the health and welfare rights of civil servants is on the agenda, and that this process will be carried out with an optional system rather than being mandatory.

Pakorn stated that the current civil servant employment system's use of a single design for all professional groups causes problems. He added that the system should be diversified according to the nature of the job, drawing attention to the differences in the working conditions of medical personnel, police, and administrative civil servants.
