New Treatment Method Eliminates HIV Virus

Researchers at the University of Oregon have developed a new treatment method. This treatment includes a combination of standard antiviral medications, special protective proteins, and an experimental drug called leronlimab. The treatment works by preventing the virus from entering cells and stopping the multiplication of already infected cells. Additionally, leronlimab blocks the CCR5 receptor, which allows the virus to enter cells. Researchers suggest that this treatment method could lead to the elimination of the virus if applied within the first 72 hours.
