July Tax Calendar in Greece: Taxes to Be Paid and Important Deadlines

The month of July stands out as one of the most critical months of the year for the financial planning of households, freelancers, and companies in Greece. During this period, a series of important tax obligations that citizens and businesses must fulfill are concentrated. It is of great importance for taxpayers to pay attention to the specified final payment dates. Because even the slightest delay in payments can open the door to serious sanctions. The calendar must be followed meticulously in order to avoid facing negative situations such as late interest fees, administrative fines, or the loss of the right to benefit from tax discounts.

The process of filing income tax returns constitutes one of the most important milestones in July. The submission of E1 and E3 forms by natural and legal persons via electronic means ends on 15 July, and this date is considered a strict deadline. Advance payment incentives for taxpayers are gradually decreasing; while those who submitted their declarations until the middle of May received a 4 percent discount, those who processed until the middle of June benefited from a 3 percent discount. Taxpayers who leave the process to the last minute will be able to seize the opportunity to benefit from a 2 percent discount, provided that they pay the tax in advance by this date.

For taxpayers with tax debts, the time for the first major payment installment will come towards the end of July. The first installment of the income tax must be paid by 31 July. The deadline is set as 31 July for citizens who wish to pay the entire tax debt in advance and thus benefit from the discount right. Taxpayers who do not prefer advance payment or who do not have the opportunity to pay their debt at once have the opportunity to pay their taxes in eight equal installments. This installment plan covers a schedule starting at the end of July and extending until the end of February 2027.

The payment process for ENFIA, known as the real estate tax, also continues at full speed. Property owners can access their E9/ENFIA declarations and the calculations for the year 2026 via the myAADE digital platform. The real estate tax applied this year is divided into a 12-month installment plan that started in the last days of this past March and will be completed in February 2027. On the other hand, a significant portion of taxpayers has obtained a serious discount or convenience in this year's real estate taxes thanks to the special regulations introduced by the government. For example, a 50 percent discount is automatically granted to those whose primary residence is located in small settlements with a population not exceeding 1,500 across the country.

In addition, more than 428,000 taxpayers who have insured their homes against natural disaster risks such as earthquakes, fires, and floods have also seen the benefit of their share in the tax discount. However, in rare cases where these discounts are not reflected in the calculation due to various technical problems such as errors in the electricity installation number, it is possible for taxpayers to file an amended declaration without facing any penal sanction until 31 July 2026. Businesses are also obliged to submit their periodic Value Added Tax (VAT) declarations and make the relevant payments by 31 July. In this context, taxpayers can fulfill their obligations by paying with a credit card in case of payment difficulties or by applying to tax offices for a restructuring plan with maturities of up to 24 months.
