Truck and Car Collide in Zonguldak: Elderly Couple Loses Their Lives

In the tragic accident that occurred in the Ilıksu location of Kozlu district in Zonguldak, a car trying to enter the main road collided with a truck. Pushed about 10 meters by the impact of the collision, the car crashed into a retaining wall and then overturned into a water canal.

Yahya Ergin (81) and his wife Aysel Ergin, who were trapped inside the vehicle, were extricated from the car after prolonged efforts by firefighting teams. The unfortunate couple, who were referred to Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi Hastanesi, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions.

Numan A. (22), the driver of the truck involved in the accident, was taken into custody after the incident and referred to the courthouse after his testimony at the gendarmerie. Gendarmerie Crime Scene Investigation teams are continuing their comprehensive investigation into the accident.
