Intense Military Conflict Between the US and Iran: Strait of Hormuz Closed

Iranian state media reported large explosions around Keşm Island and Bender Abbas. The US military targeted Iran's missile and air defense systems in retaliation after the Iranian Revolutionary Guards struck a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. While there were no casualties in Keşm during the clashes, it was reported that a soldier was killed in Yasık, one of Iran's southern regions.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced that they have indefinitely closed the Strait of Hormuz until US interventions cease. This critical maritime route, through which one-fifth of the world's hydrocarbon trade passes, caused regional tension to directly threaten global supply security. These developments also effectively collapsed the 17 Haziran ceasefire protocol signed by both sides.

As the regional crisis escalated rapidly, air defense systems were activated in neighboring countries, including Katar and Ürdün. The Revolutionary Guards announced that they also struck the US base in Katar and the American aircraft carrier logistics bases in Umman. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that a total of 140 strikes were carried out against military targets in Iran in the third round, while US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that Iran paid a heavy price.
