President Aktaş: We Are Always with Our Producers

Erkan Aktaş, President of Merzifon Chamber of Agriculture, stated that they are closely monitoring the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) process during the harvest season. He emphasized that they have taken all necessary steps to prevent producers from being victimized. Aktaş highlighted the importance of TMO purchase prices and processes, especially during the intense wheat and barley harvest period. He expressed that they are always on the side of farmers and work to solve their problems. Additionally, he mentioned the difficulties producers face when delivering products to TMO.

President Aktaş said that TMO's purchasing policies should be regulated in favor of producers. He noted that there may be disruptions in the appointment system due to the intensity of the harvest season. He stated that they have been in contact with relevant institutions to resolve these disruptions. Aktaş emphasized that they will do their best to ensure farmers can sell their products on time and at fair prices. He also expressed that government agricultural supports should continue to increase.

Aktaş stated that as Merzifon Chamber of Agriculture, they listen to all problems of producers and produce solutions, and they hold regular meetings in this context. Drawing attention to the high input costs for farmers, Aktaş said they are working to reduce these costs. He also mentioned that they provide technical support to producers on issues such as irrigation and fertilization. Aktaş emphasized that agriculture is vital for the country's economy and therefore they are always on the side of the producer.

Aktaş stated that they have mobilized all their resources for a productive harvest season and have developed projects to help farmers earn more. He expressed that they assist producers not only with TMO purchase prices but also with storage and transportation issues. Aktaş also emphasized the need to increase incentives for young farmers to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production. He said this would support rural development and prevent migration.

Finally, President Aktaş wished all producers a bountiful harvest season. He reiterated that they are always with farmers and work to make their voices heard. Aktaş stated that they will continue to raise public awareness to overcome the challenges faced by the agricultural sector. He also expressed that the chamber's doors are always open to solve any problems producers have with TMO.
