Kayaking Event at 2,900-Meter High Calyan Lake in Farasin Plateau

Members of the Şehri Nuh Cycling and Nature Club, based in Şırnak, held their weekend activity at Çalyan Lake in the Faraşin Plateau of Beytüşşebap district. Nature enthusiasts kayaked on the lake at an altitude of approximately 2,900 meters, rowing in the cool high-altitude air and natural scenery. Participants not only kayaked but also had the opportunity to closely observe the region's natural beauty. Çalyan Lake, which also attracts photography enthusiasts, campers, and hiking lovers, has become one of the important nature tourism routes in Southeastern Anatolia. At the end of the event, club members called for not leaving trash in nature.

The event was organized to promote the natural beauty of the region and increase interest in outdoor sports. Club members stated that kayaking on the high-altitude lake was challenging but enjoyable. Participants admired the clear water and surrounding green nature. Additionally, those who camped around the lake spent the night under the stars. Such events are expected to boost Şırnak's tourism potential.

Çalyan Lake is known as one of the most striking points of the Faraşin Plateau. The lake offers an ideal place for those seeking coolness in summer. The region also stands out with its rich flora and wildlife. Frequently preferred for hiking and photo safaris, the lake has attracted more visitors in recent years as kayaking has become popular.

Club members emphasized the importance of respecting nature during the event. Care was taken to collect trash and leave the natural area clean. Participants stated that such activities raise environmental awareness. Attention was also drawn to other outdoor sports activities in the region.

Şırnak Governorship and local administrations are carrying out various projects to support nature tourism. Brochures are being prepared to promote Çalyan Lake, and improvements in transportation are planned. This aims to attract more tourists to the region. Club officials announced that similar events will continue in the future.
