Imam Falls From Rocks While Picking Mushrooms in Bursa, Condition Critical

In a forested area near Muratbey Mahallesi in the İnegöl district of Bursa, Yafes Kılıç (44), a member of a group out picking mushrooms, fell approximately 4 meters from the rocks he climbed and was seriously injured. The tragic accident in the rural area took place around 11:00, and it was determined that Yafes Kılıç, the Imam of Muratbey Camii, lost his balance on the rocky terrain he entered during his search, leading to a grim fall.

The accident occurred while Yafes Kılıç was on a nature walk and mushroom picking activity with his friends. Continuing his search for mushrooms, Kılıç attempted to climb a rocky surface to reach a desired point, but during this effort, he slipped, lost his balance, and fell from a height of about 4 meters, suffering serious trauma to various parts of his body.

Immediately after the incident, Yafes Kılıç's friends, who were with him, rushed to the scene to help the injured imam and carried out an operation to extricate the injured person from the difficult terrain. Picked up from the accident site by his friends and placed in a private vehicle, Yafes Kılıç was rushed to the nearest health facility, İnegöl Devlet Hastanesi, where a life-threatening picture was encountered.

It was learned that the general health condition of Yafes Kılıç, who was admitted to the emergency room of İnegöl Devlet Hastanesi and examined in detail by doctors there, remains critical. While the medical team started an intensive treatment process for the imam to maintain his vital functions, it was stated that developments regarding the outcome of the initial interventions at the hospital and the subsequent treatment protocols were being followed closely.

Upon notice, gendarmerie teams dispatched to the scene launched extensive investigations to determine exactly how the accident occurred, the reasons for the accident resulting in injury, and the fault status. Security forces cordoning off the area where the fall occurred on the rocky ground are preparing an investigation file by investigating possible fault or negligence, while all details of the incident continue to be reported.
