Access ban decision for 2,702 social media accounts linked to FETÖ

Through a comprehensive operation conducted under the coordination of the Cumhurbaşkanlığı İletişim Başkanlığı, access bans have been imposed on thousands of social media accounts belonging to FETÖ and those determined to be affiliated with this organization. According to the information announced by İletişim Başkanı Burhanettin Duran, necessary legal measures were immediately put into effect for a total of 2,702 social media accounts within the last month. The Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü Siber Suçlarla Mücadele Daire Başkanlığı, relevant Cumhuriyet Başsavcılıkları, and Bilgi Teknolojileri ve İletişim Kurumu (BTK) actively participated in this coordinated effort. This comprehensive action aims to cut off the digital extensions of the organization and its disinformation activities conducted via social media. Authorities emphasize that legal processes are being meticulously executed and the operations continue with determination.

This intervention carried out in cyberspace represents a significant step regarding how terrorist organizations use social media platforms. These accounts, which formed FETÖ's propaganda mechanism and housed the organization's manipulation networks, were frequently used to direct public perception.
