Large Quantity of Banned Substances Seized in Drug Operation in Hatay, 4 People Detained

A large-scale security operation was carried out across Hatay to prevent drug trafficking and use. On July 1, police teams executed 4 simultaneous operations at various points in the city, striking a heavy blow to crime organizations in the region. The coordinated execution of the operations was crucial in preventing banned substances from reaching the market, and the determined stance of security forces yielded significant results.

During searches and detections within the scope of the operations, a substantial amount of narcotics and production materials ready for distribution were seized. Police teams found a total of 8 kilos 900 grams of marijuana, 125 grams of synthetic cannabinoids, and 56 synthetic drug pills at the search points. Additionally, 2 cannabis root plants and 2 boxes of acetone, determined to be used in drug production, were seized and taken into custody by security forces.

Following the operations, legal proceedings and sanctions shaped by court decisions were implemented for the accused. The suspects, identified as M.Y., Z.K., İ.A., and H.S.S., were referred to the judiciary after completing their statement processes at the police station and were detained to be sent to prison. Different legal sanctions were applied to other suspects in the investigation file; a travel ban was imposed on Z.O., while the individual named H.B. was released under judicial control conditions.

These steps, taken to ensure peace and security in the region, once again demonstrated how serious and comprehensive the struggle is, particularly regarding the protection of young people.
