Major Extortion Operation Against the 'Söylemezler' Criminal Organization in İstanbul

As part of a meticulously conducted investigation by the Bakırköy Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı, a comprehensive operation was carried out against the criminal organization known as 'Söylemezler', which is highly recognized by the public. This organization, stated to be led by a suspect named M.F.S., had long been on the radar of security forces. Teams from the İstanbul İl Jandarma Komutanlığı Kaçakçılık ve Organize Suçlarla Mücadele (KOM) Şube Müdürlüğü launched a simultaneous operation in the early hours of the morning. During the operation, extensive security measures were taken to apprehend a total of 11 suspects, who are considered to be managers and members of the organization. It was reported that arrest and detention orders were issued directly against the suspects on 'extortion' charges.

According to information obtained from security units, raids were conducted on numerous addresses where the suspects were thought to reside and operate. Upon the instructions of the Bakırköy Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı, search and seizure operations were initiated at a total of 13 different addresses across İstanbul. It is stated that critical evidence regarding the illegal activities of the organization was found during the searches at these addresses, and digital materials were seized. The Gendarmerie teams conducted a highly confidential operation to carry out the raid by surprise. These searches are evaluated to be conducted with the aim of completely exposing the financial structure and illegal actions of the organization.

The Bakırköy Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı, which is conducting the investigation, made an important statement to the public regarding the matter, emphasizing that the process would be handled transparently. In the written statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was expressed that the judicial investigation is still ongoing and new developments may occur in the upcoming stages. Furthermore, it was noted that the suspects will be referred to judicial authorities for interrogation in light of the seized evidence. Authorities also added that they are conducting an in-depth examination to identify the organizers and lower-level members of the operation. Assurance was given that official briefings will be ongoing so that the public can accurately understand the scale of the events.

The Söylemezler criminal organization has previously come to Türkiye's agenda with various illegal actions it carried out and has drawn attention among organized crime syndicates. Such organizations generally commit crimes such as extortion, racketeering, and similar offenses, endangering the life and property safety of individuals by using violence and threats. This latest operation by the security forces represents a highly critical step taken to break the negative effects of criminal organizations on society. Authorities have repeatedly emphasized that the dismantling of such criminal structures is essential for the peace and security of the local population. It has been learned that the 11 detained suspects were taken to the Jandarma KOM Şube Müdürlüğü for interrogation. After completing their health checks, the suspects are planned to be referred to the courthouse in the coming days to be brought before a judge. It is reported that during the judicial process, the suspects' statements will be taken in the presence of their lawyers, and the indictment prepared by the prosecution will be evaluated by the court. If sufficient evidence is collected, it is highly likely that the defendants will be arrested and sent to prison. This operation has once again demonstrated the determination of security forces in İstanbul to fight against crime.
