Fraud Operation in Eskişehir: 12 Detained, 10 Arrested

As a result of a comprehensive investigation centered in Eskişehir and focusing on fraud allegations, 12 suspects, for whom arrest warrants had been issued, were detained by security forces. It was determined that the suspects were remanded in custody to be referred to judicial authorities for the completion of their statements and legal processes. It was noted that the operation was conducted as part of the fight against criminal organizations in the region and that legal processes are being carried out meticulously.

The detained suspects were referred to the Eskişehir Courthouse, where their statements were taken by the prosecution upon completion of the investigation file, and they were brought before the on-duty peace judgeship. A process of evaluation began regarding the imposition of detention or judicial control measures on the suspects who made their defenses before the court and where evidence regarding their fraudulent activities was assessed. The court announced its decision based on the degree of evidence and the suspects' connection to the crime.

Following the trial conducted by the on-duty peace judgeship, it was decided to arrest 10 of the 12 detained suspects on charges of 'aggravated fraud'. While the arrested suspects were sent to prison due to the insufficiency of the imposed judicial control measures and the risk of escape, two of the suspects in the operation were released. Judicial control provisions were applied to the released suspects, and a foreign travel ban was imposed.

The investigation conducted under the coordination of the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office demonstrated an operational success against fraud networks that cause material and moral damage to citizens and showed that the legal process continues resolutely. According to obtained information, the file will be expanded by conducting detailed examinations into the roles of the indicted defendants within the organization and their actions against the victims. Within the scope of the investigation, legal processes have also been initiated to remedy the grievances of the victims and return their money.

In the official statement made regarding the incident, emphasizing the determined stance of security units in the fight against crime, it was stated that efforts would continue uninterrupted to prevent the commission of similar crimes. Citizens are warned to be cautious against all kinds of fraud attempts, and suspicious situations are requested to be reported immediately to the 156 or 112 emergency lines. It was noted that such operations will continue and no leeway will be given to criminals, and necessary steps are being taken to protect the tranquility of society.
