Death Toll in Venezuela Earthquake Disaster Rises to 3 Thousand 811

The toll from the twin earthquakes that shook Venezuela and caused massive destruction continues to worsen. According to the latest data announced by National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez, the death toll from the earthquakes that occurred on 24 Haziran has reached 3 thousand 811. While search and rescue operations continue uninterruptedly at the scene, it has been reported that 16 thousand 740 people have sustained various injuries. Thousands of people were left homeless in the regions most affected by the disaster, and authorities stated that the number of homeless individuals has reached 17 thousand 907. These figures reveal that the humanitarian situation in the country is becoming increasingly complex and inextricable day by day.

As the humanitarian crisis deepens, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez made important appeals to the international community. Rodriguez demanded the alleviation of economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela and the unfreezing of assets held abroad in order to support the country's reconstruction processes. In a statement broadcast on state television, she emphasized that if the obstacles are removed, Venezuela has sufficient funds to finance its reconstruction activities abroad.
