Footages Capture the Moment of Factory Explosion in Yunanistan: 11 Injured, 3 in Intensive Care

A terrible explosion that occurred at an industrial facility located on Megaris Caddesi in the Aspropirgos beldesi of Yunanistan's Attika region caused great panic and a widespread fire in the area. The force of the explosion was so great that the massive fireball that erupted engulfed the entire facility within seconds and caused severe damage to the surroundings. Security camera footage from the scene reveals how the explosion turned into a disaster in a matter of seconds. These horrifying moments were shared by local media outlets, exposing the sheer scale of the incident. Following this massive explosion, numerous health and firefighting teams were rapidly dispatched to the area.

The primary factors triggering the intensity of the explosion and the rapid spread of the fire included the presence of a propane tanker at the facility and highly flammable scrap materials stored on-site, situated next to each other. The combination of these highly dangerous chemical and flammable materials caused the flames to grow within seconds, leading to an industrial disaster that was extremely difficult to control. The massive pressure wave (shock wave) virtually leveled surrounding structures and the facility's infrastructure, while the flames spread over a wide area. Authorities assess that the main reason the explosion was so destructive was the连环 (chain-reaction) ignition of the accumulated flammable materials on-site. As a result of this tragic event, a total of 11 people have been taken to various health facilities and placed under treatment so far. Six of the injured were dispatched to 'Triaio' Hastanesi, the nearest major health center to the area, where a mobilization effort was essentially launched on-site. It was learned that two of the six patients taken to the hospital were immediately intubated and admitted to intensive care units due to their extremely critical condition. Meanwhile, three patients received treatment for minor burns, and one person was discharged and sent home after initial interventions. Authorities announced that security searches are continuing meticulously to ensure no one else remains in the burning area.

In addition to those dispatched to Triaio Hastanesi, five more individuals with complaints of respiratory tract irritation and smoke inhalation applied to 'Atikon' Hastanesi. It was stated that one person in this group, whose condition was the most critical, was also intubated and transferred to KAT Hastanesi for a more advanced treatment process. The other four patients arrived at the hospital on their own and applied to the emergency room due to respiratory problems. The toxic fumes and dense black smoke resulting from the explosion are believed to have caused shortness of breath and similar respiratory problems among local residents. While health officials warned the local population to keep their windows tightly closed and avoid going outside, they urged those showing symptoms to go to the nearest health center immediately.

It was reported that as a result of the terrible explosion and the subsequent massive fire, the industrial facility in question became completely unusable and was leveled. In addition to the facility, the thick, dense, and black smoke clouds covering the area enveloped the entire Aspropirgos region, creating a suffocating atmosphere that made breathing difficult. While evacuations were carried out as a precaution at surrounding businesses, firefighting teams are intervening around the clock to prevent the fire from spreading to the surroundings. Environmental experts have been directed to the area to assess the environmental impact of the disaster and the potential long-term consequences of the air pollution. Yunan authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident, probing possible negligence in the facility's safety procedures and the exact technical causes of the explosion.
