Two children injured in chain-reaction traffic accident in Bilecik

A chain-reaction traffic accident involving a total of four vehicles traveling in the same direction occurred at the Poyra location on the highway connecting the Bozüyük district of Bilecik with Eskişehir. Due to the impact of the collision, two siblings in the car with license plate 26 AEZ 523, driven by H.K.S. whose identity was determined at the scene, were injured. Authorities announced that the children affected by the accident were 5-year-old S.S. and 9-year-old B.S. Following the incident, law enforcement and emergency medical teams were immediately dispatched to the area. According to initial investigations, the accident occurred as a result of the vehicles traveling in the same direction failing to maintain safe following distances.

Immediately after the report was made to the scene, gendarmerie, police, and 112 Emergency Medical teams were dispatched to the area. While security forces ensured traffic safety at the accident scene and regulated the passage of surrounding vehicles, medical teams provided first aid to the injured. Reaching the scene quickly, the teams carefully removed the injured who were in serious condition or had restricted mobility from the vehicles. Short-term traffic congestion formed on the highway after the accident, but the road was reopened to traffic thanks to the meticulous work of the teams. Law enforcement forces, who launched a large-scale investigation in the area, are conducting research to determine the exact course of the chain-reaction accident and the primarily at-fault party.

The injured siblings, who received initial medical intervention, were safely transported by ambulances to Bozüyük Devlet Hastanesi. According to initial information obtained from hospital authorities, it was learned that the children's health conditions are good and there is no life-threatening danger. This development slightly relieved the family members who heard about the accident and the citizens in the region. It was reported that the necessary medical tests and treatments of the children, who were hospitalized, are ongoing. Doctors state that the children could be discharged in the coming days as their conditions remain stable.

It was reported that another traffic accident occurred in the same area at roughly the same time. At the Merkez Necmiye village location, it was learned that a car with license plate 34 NYP 992, driven by 28-year-old E.A., rear-ended a tractor with license plate 11 ABJ 514 driven by 33-year-old A.B. In the mentioned accident, the car driver E.A., who experienced the force of the collision, sustained minor injuries. After an evaluation was made at the scene, the injured driver was referred to Bilecik Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi for further examination and treatment. This accident also brought up discussions regarding the density of the roads in the region and the attention levels of the drivers.
