Israel American Council CEO Elan Carr Stepping Down From His Role

Elan Carr, Chief Executive Officer of the Israel American Council (IAC), has officially announced that he will step down from his role effective 30 Eylül. Carr, who has led the council since Ekim 2023, stated that he made this decision to seek new opportunities and different challenges. Expressing that he believes the timing of his decision is highly appropriate for him, Carr emphasized that the organization is currently in a strong position. Planning to step into a new era in his career, Carr will not completely sever his ties with the institution and will continue to serve in a strategic position. The council's board of directors has currently launched a comprehensive search process to find a new CEO for the institution.

Elan Carr's past career demonstrates that he has held high-level positions on national security and social issues in the USA. Carr served in a significant diplomatic role as the United States Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism during the first Donald Trump administration. In addition to this role, he also worked as a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles County for many years, accumulating serious experience in the legal field. His broad spectrum of legal and political background added great vision to the institution while leading the Israel American Council. Although it is not yet exactly known what his new career step will be, considering the critical roles he has undertaken in the past, he is expected to carry out effective projects in the international arena.

The co-chairs of the council's board of directors, Tal Shuster and Avi Almozlino, praised Elan Carr's leadership and his outstanding performance, especially during times of crisis. The executives expressed their gratitude to Carr for successfully managing the extremely difficult process following the attacks carried out by Hamas in southern Israel on 7 Ekim 2023. It was noted that the alarming increase in antisemitic incidents worldwide following these attacks made the institution's mission even more critical. Shuster and Almozlino emphasized that during this profound crisis, Carr showed extraordinary strength, vision, and compassion, guiding the community through this dark period. The co-chairs, stating that Carr's forward-thinking approach brought the Israel American Council to its current modern and effective structure, expressed that he will always be remembered as a part of the IAC community.
