CMAC: Thai denial of facts regarding aerial bombs preposterous, untenable

The head of the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) has dismissed Thai claims that all ordnance dropped from aircraft during last year's fighting exploded as patently false. Heng Ratana pointed to mixed messages from Thai officials and the public, noting that some deny the bombing while others claim all bombs exploded. He compared this to previous denials about a cluster bomb that killed a Cambodian boy, despite evidence of unexploded bomblets. Ratana also refuted suggestions that displayed unexploded bombs were from the 1960s-70s, citing identification codes showing they were manufactured by Israel Military Industries in 1996. He emphasized that the locations of these bombs do not match US-provided historical data.
