Successful Operation Against Drug Dealers in Mardin: 4 Detentions

An important step was taken to ensure peace and security throughout Mardin province. Teams from the Narcotic Crimes Investigation Branch Office, affiliated with the Mardin Provincial Police Department, carried out a planned operation to eradicate the trade and use of drugs by the root in Artuklu district. This operation attracted attention as an indicator of the determined stance against drugs in the province. Following intelligence work in the region, teams conducted simultaneous raids on specific addresses.

In the searches conducted within the scope of the operation, drugs with high market value due to their quantity and nature were seized. It was stated that a total of 70 grams of drugs and 31 synthetic drug pills were found. With the prevention of these substances from reaching the market, it was expressed that a potential major drug swamp was dried up. It was learned that the seized drugs would be sent to a laboratory for analysis and that the investigation into the matter would be deepened.

As a result of the operation, 4 suspects, found to be directly linked to the incident, were caught and detained. It was announced that the suspects would be referred to judicial authorities after the completion of their procedures at the police station, and that a legal process would be initiated against them. The detained suspects are expected to be held accountable for drug trading and encouraging its use. Following the evaluation by the judiciary, requests for the arrest of the suspects may also come on the agenda.

The Mardin Provincial Police Department made a press statement regarding the issue and conveyed their message to the citizens. In the statement, it was emphasized that the fight against those who threaten the health, peace, and future of citizens—characterized as poison merchants and opinion leaders of malice—would continue uninterruptedly. Police officials stated that no criminal or criminal organization could find sanctuary within society and that they would not stop pursuing the suspects, signaling that such operations would continue.

It was stated that the Narcotic Crimes Investigation Branch teams, who contributed to the successful completion of the operation, worked day and night and fulfilled their duties with sacrifice. It was expressed that the teams, who exerted intense efforts in the field to ensure the safety of life and property of citizens, increased inspections to corner drug dealers and users across the province. The Police Department stated that they believe the drug problem can be solved through society-police cooperation, asking citizens to be sensitive and report incidents on this matter.
